Just the two of us!!

In honor of our 6 year anniversary and the fact that life has just been absolutly crazy, Matt decided him and I needed to get away for a couple days. Last weekend we took off on a mini get away drove for 5 - 6 hours and stayed in Vegas for the weekend. Matt's mom took the boys for the weekend and got to enjoy a couple real sleepover "Nana nights."
And me being the blogger that I am. Took pictures all weekend to "document" the excitement.

At the truck stop in Beaver the air dryer in the restroom was so powerful it litterally looked like it was going to blow the skin right off my hand.

I found this to be quite amusing. I had to take a picture. Matt said he could hear me laughing all the way out in the store. Some lady told me to stick my face under it and she'd take my picture. I should of but just couldn't bring myself to do it.

I absolutely love the huge rock mountains that are on both sides of the freeway between Arizona and St. George. The keep me in aw the whole time we are driving through. Totally gorgeous!

Finally got to Vegas. We stayed at the Palace Station. Off the freeway not the strip. From what I took in from the strip we were better off with our hotel away from there.

Poor Matt had a root canal the day before and he spent most of the weekend in so much pain. He kept trying to tough it out without taking the pain meds. But he managed to have some fun.

We did try out a game called KENO. (sp?) We spent $2 and picked 20 numbers. Than when the computer picked their numbers you win $ for how ever many numbers match. We actually won $10. We wasted that money and tried the slots. I can't handle wasting money so after losing $5.50 I said no more. But that was the extent of my gambling habit. :)

We only really ate out twice. We ate breakfast at the Hotel's cafe. And ate at the biggest buffet I had ever seen in my life. I ate so much I thought was seriously going to be sick. It was funny all weekend long as I was supposed to be having a break and relaxing I found myself thinking Mason would like this or if Mattix was here I'd save these grapes for him. I sure missed them.

What Vegas trip would be complete without a trip to M&M world? Especially if you and your honey's initial's are "M & M."
We walked for like 3 hours looking for this place and realized we hadn't walked far enough. It was down further. But we finally found it.

The cheap'O that I am refused to buy this totally darling necklace dispite the deeper meaning it held. I couldn't bring myself to pay that much for something like that. But it sure was cute. So I took a picture.

And of course we had to play in the gift shop. Try on hats and other goofy things.

I thought I looked rather hot.

Apparently so did Matt!

The lovely couple on their Anniversary. 6 whole years and if feels like we've been together so much longer. (that's a good thing)

Me falling into the fountain.

We happened to run into a couple stars at the Flamingo!

They weren't shy, they even let us take pictures with them.

At the end of the night we were walking back down the strip to head back to our car. We stopped at Treasure Island. I remember how cool the show "used to" be. FYI ~ it's awful. I wouldn't even take the time to see it again. And during this trip I totally realized that Vegas (at least what I saw of it) my friends is NOT a place to take your kids. You can't look up down or around without being bomb barded with nasty dirty stuff. I think I got my lifetime of boobs in. Thanks ladies.
But all in all it was a very good weekend. It was nice to take a break from life and spend some much needed time with Matt. We don't get out much alone. But when we do I love every minute of it. Thanks again Gail and Woody for taking the boys.
Happy Anniversary my Love!
6 year down and eternity to go! I am so happy I get to share it with you!

We love Ramona!

For Mason's birthday we had lunch together and watched the new movie Beezus and Ramona. Mason loves Salena Gomez so he picked it out. I loved this movie. It was so stinkin cute. It brought back memories of 3rd and 4th grade when my teachers had read this to me and my class. My boys loved the movie too so it sparked an idea in my head. I thought I wonder if they'd enjoy these books as much as I did. Given they are alot younger than I was when I was first introduced to them. So I took the boys to the library and we found the Beverly Clearly section. (which she has a ton of awesome books I can't wait to read to my boys) We picked one out. I let them pick. Our first one was Ramona the Pest. I read to the boys a little bit every night until they fall asleep. They have responded to it so much better than I ever imagined. They absolutly love it. And the cool part is, all I have to say is close your eyes and pretend you are watching the movies in your head. Successfully almost every night. They fall asleep pretty quick.
After the first one (we read it in a week) we went back and picked up the first in the series. Beezus and Ramona. We finished it last night. We can't wait to go pick up another one.

I was worried that without to many pictures and it being a "chapter book," that it might be way above their heads. But this right here proves to me that they are listening. Ramona's last name starts with a Q. Her kindergarten teacher tells her that a Q is a circle with a tail. So Ramona takes that to the extreme and makes all her Q's like kitty cats with a tail of course.
For preschool Mason has name sheets he has to do for homework where he practices his name. Here's his most recent name practice paper. He doesn't have Q's but he can make his O's into Kitty cat's too. He was so proud of himself. I thought it was funny.

I love to read. And I am so excited that my boys get excited about reading too.

Something is Under My Bed!!!

Last night was not a great night for sleeping in the Harris house.
Mattix had his first boogieman/monster under his bed experience. (First time in our house all together) Around 4:00 a.m. He started screaming like he was being hurt. This scared the daylights out of me. I jumped out of bed thinking something was terribly wrong. I went into his room and found him standing in the far corner of his bed pressed against the wall. Screaming his head off. I went to grab him to comfort him and he kept screaming something's under there. Something's under there. It actually kind of scared me with how scared he was. Seemed a little real. (we have had a mouse in our house before.) But I turned on the light and investigated. There was nothing there. Poor guy. I tried to calm him down. But to him it was very real. So real he said it even made a woa woa sound. I hate seeing my kids scared. I hope that boogieman/monster. Doesn't come back. I'd hate for him to come up against this mean Mama!

Baby shower Memeories.

One day my sister in law Lauren called and asked me if she could take me shopping. Well after a morning of trying to keep up with Matt and him wanting to get the house clean. I was very ready to go shopping. We had been gone for a while. Matt started calling my phone and wanting me to come home. The guys wanted us to go with them to Cabela's. I was so tired I didn't want to go. I told him to just go without us. I told Lauren let's keep shopping. They'll be gone. They won't know we're still gone. Well her phone started ringing. I was getting annoyed why don't they take no for an answer. Well Lauren was talked into coming home. I will admit I was a little disappointed. I was having fun. When we got home. I honestly didn't notice extra cars. I just assumed they were for the neighbors. I walked into my house. Came around to the living room and SURPRISE! Matt's sisters and mom had put together a surprise shower for me. It was so sweet. Matt had invited some of my new friends from my ward, my family, and friends. I had a lot of people there for not knowing about it.

I remember I got a bunch of blankets and receiving blankets. I kept thinking what am I going to do with this many? Well I have advice to any first time mom that may ever read this. You will need that many blankets. New babies pee, poop, and puke on everything. And when you are tired you don't have the energy or time to keep washing the same 5 blankets over and over. So keep all the blankets you get.
Same thing about diapers. If you get a ton of new born size or size 1's you are rolling. Don't take them back. You will need all the diapers you can get. The safe thing to do is wait until after the baby is here for a month to start taking anything back.

Starting from the begining

I was looking through some old picture last night and came across a ton of hidden memories. My hope is to one day when I can afford it, is to get my blog printed off into a blog book. So I thought for that purpose and so I can share my memories. I will blog about them.

Our first Halloween married, in our house and pregnant with Mason.

Our first pumpkin together. Matt added the ears. Pretty cool?

I still worked at Learning Tree. So here's me prego in my awesome Halloween vest and work clothes. The baby bump makes even the most awful outfit look cute.

Our ward did a trunk or treat. So Matt and I dressed up as jail birds. It was hilarious. We were hand cuffed to each other and we said we broke out together to run away and be in love. This old jail bird an the pregnant jail bird. I wish I had a picture.

I forgot the pumpkin even had a tongue. How funny. I was so excited to pass out candy. I bought a witches pot to put it in and Matt made sure we got the good stuff. Little did we know at our house in our neighborhood, there are a ton of kids and a ton of trick or treaters. We ran out pretty quick. Matt had to run to the store.
And here's our old table. Crazy how you forget little things like the table you had before the new one.
Bear with me I will be posting a few more "memories." I love these old pictures.

Happy Birthday to Tarter (Carter)

Happy Birthday to my most favorite 7 year old!!!

I remember when I was pregnant with Mason and he wanted to name him Watermelon. Carter and Mason have been like best friends from the moment Carter first started talking to Missa's big tummy. I felt Mason move the first time after I had been chasing Carter around and laid down on the floor to let him climb on me. (really to take a break.) And while laying down on my back I felt what felt like a fish flopping. I am so happy to have Carter be a part of one of my most favorite memories.
He's always been one of the boy's. He fits in quite well. We sure love our Carter.

One of Carter's favorite things has always been to play dress up and pretend. I loved listening to the things he would come up with. He's an amazing kid. With no lack of imagination.

This kid has had a special place in my heart from the day I met him. Carter is Matt's brother Joel's little boy. When I first met him he was 10 months old. He was the first one to start the aunt "Missa" trend. Before we had kids and even got pregnant I loved having him around. We've had many sleepovers and spent a lot of time together. I sure miss him. He's growing up and it's not cool to have a favorite Missa anymore. But I do sneak a cuddle or a hug in every now and than.

I can't believe he's half way through the first grade and already 7. Seems like just yesterday he was running around my house just like one of my boys. Makes me tear up to think of those days. Now instead of me reading to him, he's reading to the boys. It's awesome to see how much he's learned and grown.

How messy can 1 kid be?

Isn't it ironic that my most messy child loves to clean?
He is most happy pushing the mop, broom, or vaccum around your house.
But Oh The messes he can make.
A horrible picture but you get the point.

Perfectly depicting his destructive mood today.

After changing out of his messy jammies. He got ahold of Mattix's yogurt cup. At least it was yummy I just wish more would of got into his mouth.

Hey I think there might be a little left in there.

Outfit #3. And he enjoyed shaking his sippy cup upside down. Than tried to run away from me as I tried to take it from him. Leaving a trail of spilt strawberry milk.
He's only been awake for like 3 hours and already changed his clothes 3 times and it just seem that messes just keep following him.
I guess I can't beat'em at this game, I will just have to blog about it. I love this little guy.
