My Opera Star

Mason's class has been working with their music teacher all year on making and putting on their own opera. He's been telling me about as they've gone on. They started at the beginning of the year by coming up with what they wanted the opera to be about. They learned that opera is a story with words put to a song. (or that's what Mason's definition is) Than they each got to help add different specific parts or things to the story. Their opera is called "Finding the Rhino." All these animal friends can't find their friend the Rhino so they go on a hunt. In the song it goes "we are looking for the Rhino, were could he be? Antarctica, Asia, my cousin Carter's house." His teacher pointed out that Mason helped with that part. Can you tell? Mason choose to be a dinosaur. I unfortunately waited to the last minute to find him a costume. Luckly we were able to borrow one the night before. YAY!! It was a little big, but he was so proud to be a big T-rex.
We loved watching him perform his opera. It was so cute. I have a video I have been trying to upload. I just haven't gotten it to work. I will hopefully get it up soon. Maybe Matt can help me.

Happy Mother's Day!

Make sure you scroll down and pause the music at the bottom of my blog.
Happy Mother's Day!
I am so very thankful for the eternal responsibility my Father in Heaven has blessed me with. I love being a Mom. It is the one thing in my life I can honestly say I strive every single day to do the very best that I can do. It is not always easy. But it is so very rewarding. When my boys come to me for a snuggle or a good morning hug it melts my heart and reaffirms that I have the best job in whole wide world. I am thankful for my own Mom and her example of love and nurturing that has taught me how be a mom today. I am also so grateful to all the other women that have had a motherly role in my life and still do. And to my husband's mom. I am so thankful for her. It was her mothering that made my husband who he is today.
I hold this special gift very close to my heart. It's official, as I carry our now 4th baby, I am emotionally reminded that the path to motherhood is not the smoothest and can be the a very hard path. One that makes you question can I really do this? But I know that all this puking and achy back and hips will pay off. It's just part of the plan. If it was easy it wouldn't hold such a sacred responsibility. Being a mom is an important job. And raising honest, righteous and valiant children of God is a very obtainable goal. With much prayer and the promise of a heavenly partnership it is obtainable.

YAY Daddy!!!!

My Favorite picture from the whole day.
Sadly this is the best family picture we got. It's so hard to get everyone looking the same direction at the same time.
 Proud parents.

We found daddy's name in the program.
 Can you find him?
 Oh there he is.
Now can you find him. I think he's wearing black?
I am soo thankful for technology.
The boys did very good sitting.
When we saw daddy coming down we couldn't stop yelling for him. I think he liked it.
 That's our Dad!!
 It's official he's a college graduate.
A pretty handsome one. (BTW do you notice a little bump?)
His awesome cake made by our friend JaNean. It turned out so amazing. And it was so yummy.
I am sooo proud of  Matt. As crazy as the past few years have been and all the hard times and sacrifices we've all had to go through. I do have to admit that seeing Matt graduate and being able to have the boys see him through every step and how excited and very proud they have been of their daddy if has all been worth it. I hope he knows we are his biggest fans and we are always going to be right here cheering him on in whatever he takes on. Considering his determination to do what he puts his mind too, there's no telling what that will be. I just know it will be great. Good things are coming.
Congratulations Matt!!!

A reason to SMILE

The other day I was having a super stressful busy day. I had so much I needed to get done to get ready for Matt's graduation stuff, Young Women's, baseball and all the other everyday mom stuff. I was having what I call a "Monster Mommy Day."
I love how willing to forgive and forget my boys are. One minute mommy is yelling and everyone is sitting in timeout and the next they are making me laugh and I can't resist their cuteness. It's a good thing most of the time their cuteness outweighs the naughtiness. (most of the time)
I was trying to stay focused on what I needed to get done and Mattix kept bugging me for scissors. I finally asked him what he needed them for and he showed me the box he wanted to cut. Seeing he wasn't going to give up on his idea, I cut it for him. The next thing I knew he was putting on a show for me.
A little while later.  Manning was laughing his head off and looking at me through the bottom of a cup. "Mom you bwue." Every color is blue. He walked around looking at everything through that cup. It was awesome. I love when they discover new things.
I love my boys. They sure know how to take a bad day and make me SMILE.
