I guess you can call today my not so perfect, perfect Valentine's Day.
I had this vision in my head of how I wanted Valentine's day to go. I had all these ideas. But of course in my house with as many things that I have going on at once it's amazing that I get anything done. I wanted to do something special for Matt and the boys' teachers, so I decided to make muffins. I was going to make a special banana bread recipe, but never made it to the store to buy the missing ingredient. So I decided to make cinnamon swirl muffins. I made them once before experimenting with a couple other recipes meshed together and they were soo good. But this time they didn't fluff up and were crunchy and not so pretty. I was bummed out so I decided to try and make regular banana muffins. I thought I over cooked them so I cooked another batch. By the time I was done it was late and I had 70 muffins. So Matt (my stud "muffin") got muffins, the teachers got muffins, the office ladies got muffins and I even made some for the ladies I visit teach. (with muffins to spare) I did come up with a cute saying to go inside. "Because we love all you do... Here is some muffins just for you. Hope you have a very Sweet day." I hope they all liked their Valentines. I know the boys were super excited to pass them out.
I wanted to do something special to surprise the boys. So I made them an edible Valentine. It was supposed to be a cup of fish like an under the sea type thing and it says "I love you more than the fishes in the ocean blue."
The Jello set up faster than I anticipated and the fish wouldn't sink. So we had floating fish (dead fish). Matt says there are jumping for joy. I was bummed out but that's ok. The boys loved it. We love Jello.
Any excuse to eat pizza is a good excuse. Heart shaped pizzas for Valentines day, You can't go wrong.
They looked awesome and tasted awesome. Especially with our Valentine Jello desert.
Don't mind my old cookie sheets.
The photographers toes. :)
Which brings me to another mommy Valentine oops. What says "I love you. Have a happy Valentine's day!" better than mom scheduling an appointment to have your huge wart on your foot removed, on Valentine's day? Poor kid.Good things my boys are very forgiving and no matter what I think I did wrong today, they didn't seem to notice and if they did, they returned all my hard work and efforts with lots of hugs and kisses. I love Valentine's day. I love showing the ones I love that I do love them. I am willing to serve them and go the extra mile to make them realize that they are loved and they are the best.
Did you see the beautiful flowers my handsome hubby brought me? Yeah I got spoiled too.
