Just Keep Driving...

Day 2 Sunday~  We woke up in Albuquerque. To be honest I wasn't to impressed with NM. Probably because we got there late, I was tired, and hot. And when you looked around where we were staying everything was dry and not so pretty.  Not even any grass anywhere really. Our last stop before we left and got on our way was to the Albuquerque temple. I was in awe... It was beautiful. To be in the middle of something I found so ugly. I found myself not wanting to leave. The grounds were covered in green grass, beautiful trees and flowers everywhere.
While we were driving we've been talking about temples and why they are so important.
Mason asked "why do they make the temples so beautiful?" It made me think and so I answered him. It is Heavenly Father's house and because he is so special to us we make it so beautiful and special for him. And this temple along with all the temples are such beautiful ways to show our love for him. Don't you think?

 Love this!!

The rest of the day, at least the next 8 hours was spent DRIVING....
Two suckers are better than one.
My pretty new air freshener. My honey loves me.
We didn't leave baby Maxton home. But I do have to say he does behave himself very well in the car.
Passing the time away finding things in the clouds with our imagination.
What's a road trip without many stops to go potty? The people that work at the gas station in Elk City, OK were awesome. They were super sweet. The boys were begging for a fountain drink. (I don't know if you've ever tried to by anything at a gas station in the middle of nowhere but everything is so much more expensive.) They couldn't agree on a flavor to share and there was no way (not just because of the cost) I was buying each of them their own. The lady there started talking to me. She saw the battle we were fighting. She brought over 3 of the smallest coffee cups. She told the boys that if they would behave for their mommy and daddy they could each fill a cup half way with their own drink. Her and another guy both kept telling us not to worry about it. But we paid for one of the cups anyway. The lady was so amazed by our "big family" and not just that but we were a family of boys. She pointed to my belly and said, "something tells me you guys aren't done making boys." They all told us we make cute boys and when we told them about our trip they all wanted to come with us in our trunk. The boys thought that was so funny. I love nice people.
Our next stop was Oklahoma. I loved driving through OK. It's so pretty there.
The blue skies and the red dirt made the clouds just pop out.

We found the city of Chickasha where Matt was born.
We found his Grand Dad's old house.
We found the cemetary where his Grand Dad and Great Granny were both buried. It was so much bigger than we had imagined and for a while we looked all over for them. The boys were so good and even helped us look. We finally found them. It was a good feeling and just felt peaceful to stand there. It gave me a feeling of being connected. Like they were happy we took the time for them.
Despite all the driving it was a good day. The boys were so good and we enjoyed every chance we could get out and run. We are having fun so far.
