One of my dear friends and I had a fun day of chatting and just sitting around and really just talking the other day. When you are a stay at home mom with children running all over, moments like this are few and far in between. I love talking with her because she has a way of pointing out good things and I love how she calls those good things "bliss." It has become one of my new favorite words this week.
I am a firm believer in "counting my blessing," and "tender mercies." But The word "bliss" holds a different meaning in my mind. For example she was talking about the blissful moments of being pregnant or being a new mom. She sees it as bliss to walk around sleep deprived and mounds of clothes laying around. I never saw it that way. To her it's a result of having this wonderful new baby in YOUR arms. Little things like that. She was talking about how she misses being on vacation and the bliss of it all. Seeing the joy in her family's faces. And than trying to find that bliss at home with a schedule, routine, cooking, cleaning, being pregnant and just being a mom. I have really been thinking about this concept. I have struggled lately with finding joy, finding my bliss. So the past couple days I have really tried to point out in my mind those moments that I can call my own "bliss."
So here is goes I thought I would share with you my definition of my new favorite word in pictures.
When I went to make my 2nd peanut butter and honey sandwich yesterday I was feeling a little guilty for not being able to just eat 1. I randomly pulled out this piece of bread and it had a heart shaped air hole. So not only did my sandwich taste so good. It was literally made with love inside.
Bliss is looking past the mess and seeing that somethings are just soo worth it. Like making playdough. My boys can play with this stuff for hours. And all it takes is 5 min. of clean up. They don't even need all the actual playdough toys. I let them take out a few kitchen tools the other day and they were so excited. Look at those smiles...
Bliss is having the recipe for the best playdough ever. It even smells good. I like you so much I am going to share my bliss with you.At least the recipe.
Bliss is noticing that the kids are not just in the living room making soo much noise. But Mattix is trying to teach Manning to sing Head Shoulders Knees and Toes. And loving to hear his little voice. I love hearing him sing. Lately he tries so hard.
Bliss is my favorite little guys begging for mommy snuggles on the couch every morning.
Bliss is watching your kids learn new things and doing those things on their own.
Bliss is the race to give daddy the first hug every day when he comes home and seeing daddy love every min. of it.
Everyday is not full of bliss. Some days are super tough and not the best. But I hope to be able to find a glimpse of bliss on even those days. Because I am sure it's there. I just have to look for it.

Play Dough
1 cup flour
1 packet of your favorite koolaid color/flavor
1 cup water
2 teaspoon cream of tarter
1/4 cup salt
1 tablespoon oil
Add koolaid to the water. Mix everything together and cook on medium heat until mixture pulls away from the sides and forms a ball.It starts to turn a smooth darker color I like to roll the ball around to make the whole thing turn this color. It makes the dough the perfect texture. Place it on wax paper and allow to cool. Knead it for 30 seconds. (careful it's still hot) Place it in a zip lock bag and store it in the fridge.
