The other night I took the boys out to do some last minute Christmas shopping. It just happened to be almost 8:00 when we left. So I knew it was going to be an adventure just by looking at the clock. We had a few stores to run to. Michele's Craft store being one of them. It was our second store (with two more to go) and I was so tired. The boys were in the hyper tired stage by this point. They were everywhere. Mason brought one of these guys to me and told me he found the perfect gift for his PaPa. It was green and looked like an elf. We walked over to the display and discovered there were 2 other guys like him. Santa and a snowman. Mason was dying to give one to Grandpa and Daddy too. I saw the price and said. "I am not paying $X amont of money for a tiny Chia Pet." Mason was so disappointed. He knew it was going to be perfect for them. But I had a budget and I had to stick to it.
Well we got up to the to pay and the lady informed me that all Christmas stuff was marked way down. So they were reasonably priced for this cheap/frugal mama. The boys were so excited. We got home and they put the 3 of them under the tree without wrapping them.
Well we got them wrapped and delivered. Needless to say. I don't think Mason realized what he was buying. I went to put him in the bath and he asked if he could play with the Santa ball. I explained to him what it was and that it was like a plant that is going to grow. And he said, "well PaPa said we need to soak it in some water." Sometimes I wish I could see things from his point of view. These were "the perfect gift" for Papa, Grandpa, and Daddy. Mason thought they were going to play with them in the bathtub.
