Day 1

Day 1!!
Saturday was cleaning day. What can I say I start them young.
Manning: 5 months and give or take a week or two.

Photo of the Day

One of my friends (Jill) did this idea last month and I absolutly loved it. So I am stealing the idea in hopes that I will get in the groove of blogging a little more. It's a photo a day of/or depicts something that stood out in the day, a thought or an event type thing. I am very excited. So I am going to start today and do two one for yesterday and one for today. So enjoy!

A myriad of thoughts for a crazy day!

My friend Jill posted such a great blog post today that I thought I would steal her idea. After the crazy day I had today. I thought I would offer myself some cheap therapy.

Blogging feels so good sometimes. I use it as a journal. I actually have quite a few "drafts" I thought sounded rediculous that I never actually published to my blog. I should people just don't think I am crazy when I do. I can't control the randomness in my head.

I don't think I could be a mother of twins. I've had two infants for the past week and a half and I do have to say it is tough work. Kudos to those that have twins and have made it through.

I think in total today I have changed 15 diapers. 13 of which were poopy. And wiped a total of 6 bums. Wow! I just had to tell someone.

I love my neighbors. They are all so great! I am so happy we live where we live.

My husband showered me with comfort food. He brought me home frenchfries, triple chocolate cake and a can of Dr. Pepper. Oh he's wonderful!

My son managed to get shocked in the tush today by the electrical outlet. That was quite the event. Guess that will teach him to hide from me when he's in trouble and it opened my eyes to how important outlet covers really are.

I can't wait for Spring and to be able to go outside in the even and take the boys for a walk without freezing.

For the 3rd time in my whole career of motherhood, I got all my children to sleep before 8:30. And it wasn't a battle. (the no nap worked out to my benefit)

I have been going through my "drafts" and I suppose I am just going to start publishing some of my random thoughts I have been hiding. Today is June 15. This one is from Feb. 25. It makes me laugh!

Some Profound Thoughts

So I've been thinking.... That never starts out good. Matt knows when a conversation starts out like that he's in for the long haul, nothing short of tears, hugs and it's going to be ok's. Prepare yourself this is really profound.

Life IS like a game of Dodgeball...

As I am typing this I am picturing summertime, my backyard, a couple missionaries, neighborkids, grownup neighbors and alot of fun.

There are those (like myself) that get hit within the first 10 seconds of the game and are out. Those that are able to dodge the ball over and over until they get to tired and bam their out. Also those that are able to dodge the ball all through the game never getting hit or even touching the ball. (oh to be like them) Than there are those that are fighters, they are able to dodge the ball, they jump, duck, run and manage but what sets them apart from the previous group. These players are able to catch what's thrown at them and fight back.

In relation to life this is what I think. Life is not easy, life is constantly being thrown at you, coming from every direction, and what you do in reaction to what comes at you determines the outcome of the game. Some people see a problem or challenge coming and either aren't ready or just don't want to fight they get hit and bam they are out. I can honestly admit I have been that person. This is to hard. Why even bother? Some people are lucky and never get hit they are able to dodge everything and things go pretty good. But I'm sure that's not easy.

5 years and Counting!

5 years ago today at I married my wonderful husband. I thought it would be fun to share the story of how we became who we are today.

During the summer of 2004 I was living away from home on my own. One day I was hanging out with my mom and we went to the Holiday gas station down the street from her house to get drinks. We went inside and there just happened to be a very good looking guy working there that day. Well let's just say I liked what I saw. About 1 month and a half went by and during that month and a half I found every excuse to stop at the gas station I could. Especially if I saw his car out front. (my car never saw less than 3/4 a tank that summer) I kept asking the ladies he worked with all the info. I could. One day while I was home sick my mom begged me to go with her to the gas station. She needed me to run in for her. I looked horrible. No makeup, sick and in my p.j.'s. We got there and I went in. My mom thought it would be funny to leave me there. I look out the window as she drives away. I was so upset. But got over it fast. In the 20 min. I was there I managed a conversation and I got his phone number. We ended up going out on a date that Friday.

There was just something about him. I had this feeling that we could be great together. That was early September. We were engaged a few weeks later.

The night Matt prosed to me was a memory I don't think either one of us will ever forget. It was a story you would only read in Reader's Digest. I ruined his romantic plans. From the very begining. His plan was to go like this. We were going to get Wendy's to go. I used to always get a kids meal he was planning to hide the ring in meal as the prize. But for some reason that night I wanted something else. He ended up buying a kid's meal for himself. (which I made fun of him for not knowing what was going on) He took me to the park and we were going to have a picnic. But there were to many ducks and geese to eat on the ground so we ate at a table. The geese and ducks would not leave us alone. (I have to mention I have a fear of geese due to a bad experience as a youngen) I stupidly threw a fry at them to get them to go away. Well that just caused every stinking fowl in that park to come. I was freaking out. Matt could see that he needed to get what he came for over with. He says to me to distract me from the chaos " look what I got in my bag" I look over at him as he's getting on his knee. I lost it. But for the wrong reason. I started yelling at him to get off the ground "they're going to get you. " I was pulling on him. He still kept trying. He hands me the ring. I still haven't fulling grasped what he's doing. He said something else I didn't hear him. I looked at him it hits me what's going on. And he say's "so what do you say?" My reply... Like the dork that I am. "Please" He says "Yes or No are you going to marry me?" I finally said yes. And that is how we got engaged.

We were married Jan. 29, 2005.

It has been a busy 5 years, 3 great little boys, a morgage and alot of love.

It's been wonderful. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I am so happy to be married so such a wonderful Man.

Best Brother's!

When I look at my boys, I can't help but think that I am quite lucky.
My dad told me the other day that I need to prepare, I'm in for it. He pictures my house 3 years from now like an episode of Home Improvement. 3 crazy brothers that are best friends one minute and ganging up on each other the next. Than "Tim the Tool Man Taylor." (he.. hee.. Matt the tool Man Harris!)
I can totally see that too. I see broken windows, mini fires, black eyes, stitches and many more crazy events. But I am pretty sure no matter what I will always be just as proud as my mother in law of my very own "Harris Boys."
All I have to say is girls eat your heart out. I fell for a Harris boy too. It's hard to resist that handsomeness!!

You could win!

If you haven't checked out the Rubied Apple you should. A really good friend of mine has set this up to earn money for her son who has been diagnosed with Tuberous Scierosis. He will have surgeries and is in need of medication's that comes to around $600 a month. I can't imagine being in this mother's shoes. I pray that Heavenly Father will strengthen them and bless them in whatever they may need.
Right now though she is hosting a giveaway through her website and I'd like you to check it out. Enter as many times as you wish. And good luck!
